DAY 1

INTRO TO COSMETIC MEDICINE AND NEUROTOXIN TRAINING

Our first day will include a brief introduction to the world of Aesthetic Medicine and will outline the different treatment modalities available in this space. We will review the anatomy of the face as it relates to cosmetic medicine and aging, followed by a discussion about the science of beauty. You will learn to perform a client consult and how to assess a face to formulate a plan of action. The balance of the day will be devoted to Neurotoxins (Botox/Xeomin/Evolus/Nuceiva/Dysport), their uses, the technique of injection and hands-on training for forehead lines, the Glabella (11’s), and the peri-orbital area (crow’s feet).

DAY 2

ALL ABOUT DERMAL FILLERS

Our second day will be devoted to dermal fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Teosal, Stylage, Boletero… etc). We will look at the different indications for Fillers – re-volumization, volume enhancement, contouring, lifting and hydration. In addition, we will cover the contraindications for filler injection as well as potential side effects. Two techniques of injection will be taught – needle and cannula, and hands on training will be provided using a cannula for mid-face and tear trough injection and needle injection for the lips.

DAY 3

MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENTS: ENERGY BASED DEVICES AND CHEMICAL PEELS

On day three, we will review the different types of energy-based devices that are available and their uses. This will include the different types of lasers, radio frequency devices and IPL devices. The indications and contraindications for these devices as well as potential side effects will be discussed. We will also cover the different types of chemical peels that are available, their uses and possible side effects. There will be a variety of devices available on-site to get hands-on experience with client treatments.

DAY 4

FORMULATING A TREATMENT PLAN & THE BUSINESS SIDE OF COSMETICS

We will tie together all of our learning by doing live consults to understand how all the different modalities can work together to create the best client outcomes. We then review the business side of a Cosmetic Medicine practice. This will include structuring your practice/business, how to plan for a successful start-up cosmetic practice, marketing – for new clients and retention of existing clients, creating an online presence, securing your online reputation, and supplies, suppliers and group purchasing opportunities.
